Reticules were also known as “Indispensables” during the Regency period of fashion. The aim of this workshop is to explore a variety of machine embroidery techniques to create a fabric that will be used to make a small bag to hold your indispensables such as glasses, phone, small purse etc.

Simple pattern shapes will be provided together with ideas for creating your own design. A simple or abstract design will be designed within the pattern shape which will be transferred onto the fabric for stitching.

Surface stitchery techniques such as creating texture with stitches, collage, raw edge applique and machine made cords will be demonstrated on the sewing machine. We will also explore the use of a variety of water soluble products that can be used for transferring designs and lace work.

This workshop will suit Intermediate students with competent stitching skills.

Enrol in this Workshop

You can book a place in this workshop by contacting the Embroiderers' Guild NSW.

Some workshops will have an additional charge for kits - please enquire at the time of booking.

The Festival program has been widely publicised and shared both locally and internationally through word of mouth, marketing and social media.  Please read workshop information and policies carefully, as there are slight differences in the way we are handling bookings for the Festival.  A number of dedicated places will be held for Guild members in all workshops for the first two weeks. We suggest that you book within the first two weeks to avoid disappointment.

FESTIVAL WORKSHOP POLICY
Enrolments can be made by email, phone, or in person and must be accompanied by either the full payment or a non-refundable deposit of $30.00 per workshop per day.  When a deposit only has been paid, the balance must be paid in full by the “Payment Due Date” which is six (6) weeks before the workshop.  The place of any student who has not paid the full fee by the “Payment Due Date” may then be taken by a student on the waiting list.  Workshop requirements will be sent out five (5) weeks prior to the workshop commencement to fully paid participants.
Refund / Cancellation Policy:
The Guild reserves the right to cancel a workshop due to lack of numbers or unforeseen circumstances.  In this situation, a full refund will be made to participants.  In addition to the non-refundable deposit of $30 per day, cancellations by workshop participants less than 2 weeks prior to the workshop will attract a fee if the Guild is not able to fill your place.  The Guild will endeavour to fill last minute places from the waiting list, however, if this is not possible, the cancellation fee will be 25% of the workshop cost.
